What is Lens?

Lens is performance reporting through a creative lens, allowing you to build, segment and share beautiful reports to clients or colleagues.

1. How to set up Lens

Your connected ad accounts live within brands you create in Lens, here’s how to get started.

  1. Go to app.foreplay.co/lens

  2. Click “Connect Ad Account”

  3. Name your Lens (Use the brand name eg. “Nike”)

  4. Select Currency - Recommended to use the same currency as the ad account you are connecting.

  5. Reporting Timezone - Recommend to use the same timezone as the ad account you are connecting.

2. How to connect a new Ad Account

🚨 You need to have admin-level permissions for the Meta ad accounts you want to connect.

  1. Click on the ad platform you would like to connect to Lens. This will launch a pop-up to connect your data with Orcabase from Triple Whale
    (You do not need a Triple Whale account)

  2. Click on your desired platform in the pop-up

  3. Login to the selected platform and grant permissions.

  4. Click Next

3. How to set ad account settings

After you have selected the ad account you would like to connect to Lens there are a few crucial settings to ensure you have the best experience.

1. Setting a Goal Metric

Choose a default metric to enable relevant insights throughout Lens. Whatever metric you choose here will be automatically displayed in multiple views and dashboards. We recommend choosing ROAS.

2. Default Attribution Window

Choose the default attribution window for your account. You will be able to change and compare attribution windows within any Lens Report, your default will be used on any new report you create or in any dashboard views.

3. Choosing a Benchmark Segment (eCommerce Only)

Lens benchmarks allow you to compare your creative metrics across 20,000 other ad accounts. To ensure you are seeing relevant data choose the settings that most closely match the business you are advertising.

  • Industry / Niche: Aligns with the product or service you sell

  • Average Order Value: Specify the AOV of your brand to be compared to similar companies. Recommended to use your store AOV and not your ad channel AOV.

  • GMV / Revenue: Specify the yearly revenue range of your store to be compared to brands of a similar size.

4. Complete the Data Sync

Once you have successfully created your Lens brand, and connected an ad account it will take some some to sync all your historical data from Meta.

Depending on your account size and age, this can take multiple hours or even days. The good news is you can start using Lens once 7 Days of historical data is imported.

After that point, all your performance and data will be available as almost instantly, no more “waiting for Facebook” or clicking edit in Facebook Ads Manager to preview Ad Creative.
